The Hunger Games

The Hunger games is a dystrophy book trilogy takes place in the distant future, in North America the 12 districts of Panem. The rich corrupt upper class, otherwise known as the capital, rules with fear over the poor districts. After a failed rebellion, the 12 districts are forced to succumb to the Capital's conditions. The Hunger Games forms. Each year the districts pick 1 male and female, and send them off to the arena to fight to the death. The last one standing wins. The book is told from the view of  a district 12 girl name Katniss Everdeen, and her experience in the harsh life her and her family live, and the time inside the arena.

With the end of the trilogy the book is now being made into a movie. Many readers, such as myself are highly anticipating for the release of the movie, March 23, 2012. Jenifer Lawrence is playing our leading heroin Katniss. The trailer, was released last year, and recieved lots of positive feedback.

here's a link to the trailer:

I enjoyed the book, and recommend you put this book on your to read lists. The characters are given much dimension, which helps in this case with the additional love triangle in the story. The characters add to the captivating part of the book. Do not make an assumption that the love traingle is the main theme of the book. Make no mistake in comparing this with Twilight, either( which I make no comment about). Rather focuses on the brutality of the society and the Games the citizens are forced experience. One major thing that attracted me to this book was that no character was purely evil or good. Although we are able to identify the antagonist and the protagonist easily we find out that the protagonist Katniss bears some deep dark secrets of her own. AS the book progresses there are signs of an upcoming rebellion. To others Katniss is a symbol of the rebellion, and hope and everything good. However, in the book the guilt that she must carry with her and the pressure is revealed through her thoughts.

With this ramble I conclude my review and opinion of the Hunger Games book series.

Live long and prosper,

1st attempt at blogging

To whom it may concern,
this blog is pure amusement where I post my irrational thoughts, and weird challenges. I hope my content does not offend anyone. This blog is dedicated to the children at heart, people who always wonder about doing the craziest of things but never do so. I hope to share and exchange the most absurd of ideas, with others. With that prolonged introduction, I finally start my journey as blogger.

I always wanted to have the name Isabella. I pretended I was Isabella when I was younger, and stopped fantasizing when my teacher got upset that I did not respond to my real name. So, I will be known as Isabella from now on to my readers.
